Hosted by Oxygen Music Collective founder and musical director Thomas Bell, The Creative Music Incubator unites experimental sonic artists on the first Monday of every month to share creative concepts, experiment with the low and the hi tech as applied to electronic sound art, and explore new sonic possibilities in an improvised, collaborative performance. Each month a group of sonic artists are invited to collaborate in new line ups and in unique situations. Artists are divided into three groups. Each group is given time to perform independently and with each of the other two groups. The evening's performance is a continuous 75 minutes of music, with groups of artists slowly evolving from one to the next, and culminating with a half hour of all artists joining for a final collaboration. The Creative Music Incubator is a monthly event dedicated to the experimentation and exploration of new sonic possibilities.

The Tronic is scheduled to perform at the 2010 Bent Festival!!

The 2010 Bent Festival will take place at The Tank April 22-24, 2010. A full list of participating artists and much more information is coming soon...

The Bent Festival is an annual art and music festival celebrating DIY electronics, hardware hacking, and circuit bending. Each year we invite artists from across the country and around the globe to perform music with their home-made or circuit bent instruments, teach workshops to adults and children alike, create beautiful art installations and to generally come together, face to face, and showcase the state of the art in DIY electronics and circuit bending culture.

About the Tronic:

Formed in 2008 as an improvisational live jazz-tronic band w/ DJ sensibilities and instrumental proficiency. Gregg Jarvis (nyc) utilizes drums and electronics along with Thomas Bell (nyc) on basses and synthesizers to create soundscapes, grooves and other worldly nastiness. Their unique approach to improvisation blurs the lines between the live musician, the composer and the dj.  The Tronic is truly a forward-thinking modern jazz ensemble.

The first installment was a great success!  Thank you to all who attended and participated.

Monday Feb 1st:

Oxygen Music Collective founder Thomas Bell along with musicians Robert Pepper and David Tamura will each lead a small group of musicians as the groups perform separately and  together.  The performance will be one continuous set as the groups slowly evolve from one to the next until the final half hour when all three groups will join together for a collaborative finale.
