What Is The Oxygen Music Collective?
Oxygen Music Collective is a collective of musicians led by New York bassist, composer and musical curator, Thomas Bell. Consisting of over ten different musical projects dating back to 1999, the collective takes an improvised compositional approach to all of its projects. Past projects have been heavily steeped in the traditions of Funk & Free-Jazz, with tinges of Drum n Bass, Hip-Hop, & the experimental avant-garde. The music is based on rhythm, spontaneous composition and group improvisation which allows exploration of all styles of music and creates a captivating sound that pushes the envelope of today's music.
