As we gear up for our summer season, Spread Art is going to kick into high gear in June with quite a few events to help bring in the summer. Here is an preview of some of the amazing events happening in June at Spread Art.

Thomas Bell will unveil the launch of the Spread Art Summer Mural Program with,
"The Art of Letting Go" at aka Potion ( 248 McKibbin st ) during Bushwick Open Studios. "The Art of Letting Go" is a collaborative mural performance led by Spread Art founder, Thomas Bell and includes artists, Katharine Ng, Avoid Pi, Christina deRoos and Heather Garland. Don't miss the opening/closing event on June 7th

Beginning June 8th - yoga classes at Spread Art
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays

Christina deRoos will begin teaching yoga classes this summer at Spread Art. After opening Live Bliss art and yoga studio in La Manzanilla, Mexico last year, Christina will be teaching in Brooklyn for the summer. You can learn more about her yoga training and teaching style here. Feel free also to email her with any questions or comments.
By donation: $15 suggested for 1 class; $36 suggested for weekly pass ($12/class).Notes:

June 11th - June 20th
Spread Art Summer Group Show - Improvisations
Spread Art's Summer group show will open Thursday June 11th with works that explore the theme of improvisation. Also Thurs night will be a live performance by The Tronic, the newest group from Oxygen Music Collective www.oxygenmusiccollective.org
We will also be celebrating the newest release from Oxygen Music Collective - "Ten Years" which documents many of the collective's projects from 1999 - through 2008

Join the artists participating in the summer group show for brunch at Mojito Loco. Ask questions about their work and join in on art related discussions while enjoying a wonderful menu from the best kept secret brunch spot in East Williamsburg.

Saturday June 20th
Summer Solstice Celebration of Art and Music
Closing
night for the summer group show. Celebrate the incoming summer
solstice from Sat night at 7pm till 1:45 am early Sunday morning when
the summer solstice actually begins.
Sunday June 21st
Make Music New York with Oxygen Mobile Unit
Join the Oxygen Mobile Unit while they march up and down Bedford Ave
improvising and interacting with all of their sonic surroundings. Meet
at Spread Art at 1pm to get your sonic sounding devices or bring your
own instrument. We will be having brunch next door at Mojito Loco at
2pm and then we will march over to Bedford at 4pm to begin an afternoon
of sonic mayhem!!
