Over the past several years Bridge and Price have dabbled into researching hardware and software platforms for interactivity between movement and sound and/or movement and image. They have performed many improvisations using “Wii” remotes and the Microsoft Xbox Kinect, two different technologies that Price has adapted for live performance. <fidget> has been invited to do an artist residency at Spread Art in Detroit, and Bridge received a 2014 Fellowship in the Arts from the Independence Foundation to further this research. At Spread Art, Bridge and Price will have the time and space to focus on an investigation of the technology that will allow them to develop something concrete enough to use in a controlled performance setting. This initial research will help <fidget> establish a solid platform on which to create a collaborative, interactive, real-time video design for Dust.
